Hello 2009 Seattle Reunioners,

As in most cities, Seattle is divided into neighborhoods. The more central neighborhoods are (going clockwise from the Puget Sound Downtown waterfront): Downtown, First Hill and Capitol Hill. It is a 20-40 minute walk from Downtown to the latter two mostly leafy residential neighborhoods.
Then, it is 20-60+ minutes more to: Magnolia, Queen Anne, Fremont, Wallingford, University, University Village, Montlake, Madrona, Mt. Baker, Beacon Hill Georgetown, and West Seattle. All the above neighborhoods are close (20-30 minutes by car) to the three venues for our official activities on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday A.M.+ brunch.
The Sunday venue may be take a tiny bit longer due to traffic (?) on the Evergreen Point Floating Floating Bridge. You will need a car for the drive over the bridge. No pedestrians are allowed. The rest is walkable if you are already used to 4-10 miles per day. I mention walking because we walk a lot here for recreation and it gives one a sense of a different scale (20-25 minutes/mile) in the city.
Most hotels are in the downtown core area. B and Bs abound in the closer-in neighborhoods. Motels are mostly a little further out. Feel free to ask before reserving any lodging in any part of town; we may have more specific information/gossip, etc. Some places are better than others in some peoples estimation.
Hope this helps. If anyone has any more information, please email us all.
Thanks, The Committee
